Nestled in the heart of the French Alps, Morzine is of course known for its world-class skiing. However, there's a whole other world waiting to be explored beyond the slopes. If you're seeking an alternative to skiing in Morzine, you're in for a diverse range of experiences, from tranquil snowshoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides and relaxing spas to thrilling helicopter rides and even paragliding!

Head for a hike or snowshoe
While the rest of your party race downhill and tackle the challenging off-piste, choose instead to take a leisurely hike through pristine snow-covered landscapes. A stroll along the Dereches or up towards Nyon is easy enough as a solo expedition, or go with a guide and head off the beaten track to experience the peace and tranquillity of the backcountry. We can give you contact details for some terrific people for this.

Enjoy a spa day
Focus on self-care and relaxation by heading to one of the incredible spas we have right here in the valley, or hire a therapist to come to the chalet. Return home feeling rejuvenated and ready to face the world anew.

Head for a swim in the indoor pool
Morzine has a terrific indoor pool complex and well-being area. There’s a 25m fitness pool, 125m2 learners pool, 50m2 baby pool and a 160m2 hydro-fitness area with 3 saunas & 2 steam baths.

Wander around the town
As well as the usual ski-resort collection of sports shops, Morzine is home to a few unusual artisan makers and sellers of cheese, chocolate, and pottery. You can do it on foot, or take a horse-drawn carriage ride first to familiarise yourself with the layout and enjoy the sound of jingling bells and clip-clopping hooves.

Find a live event to watch
Whether it’s a ski race, indoor ice hockey, a live music event or a winter trail race, there is usually something happening locally to go and have a look at.

Experience delicious mountain cuisine
Morzine is really well connected, so if you plan ahead it’s possible to take a lift up and meet the skiers among your group for a spot of lunch so that you can hear tales of ski school and the mornings’ adventures. Taking the Pléney lift, which is a few minutes walk from the chalet, will take you to a number of restaurants that would be relatively easy to reach on foot.

See the Eagles du Léman at Nyon
The Nyon area is a great place to hang out to watch the spectacle of people skiing with eagles, to see them fly from the Pointe de Nyon at the top down to the restaurant. A truly magical experience.

Get an adrenalin rush!
If that all seems too easygoing, soar above the stunning Alpine landscape in a paraglider, feel the exhilaration of husky sledding through snow-covered trails, or indulge in breathtaking helicopter rides for a bird’s-eye view of this pristine paradise. Unforgettable adventures await, offering a new dimension to your Morzine stay.
