We have owned and run Chalet Morzine since 2002, so we’ve learned a few different ways to help you save money on your ski holiday. Here’s our top ten.

1. Ski outside of peak holiday season.

You might not be able to of course, and we have other ideas for you if that’s the case.

2. Cater for yourself for a few nights.

Our chef partners will cater for one or a few nights, so you can blend indulgence with self-catering. Feel free to ask us for details if you’re staying with us.

3. Take advantage of early booking discounts on ski passes.

Morzine is already one of the best value ski passes in the Alps. If you book early, there is a time-limited 15% off for low season dates, or 10% off if there are more than 4 of you booking all together. Book online.

4. Picnic on the piste.

There are some picnic benches planted in the most idyllic of spots around the resort. And then there’s the indoor ‘Salle hors Sac’ where you can eat in the warmth and top up your picnic with a hot chocolate or chips.

5. Rendez-vous at the Chalet.

Because of the proximity of Chalet Morzine to the Pléney and the piste, popping back for lunch is feasible.

6. Take a day off.

Buying a 5 day instead of a 6 day ski pass will not only save you money, it will also give you the opportunity to discover other activities around resort.

7. Embrace a circular economy.

If you think how quickly children grow, it’s easy to see why the likes of Vinted, eBay, and the Montage Verte shop in Morzine have plenty of almost new gear for sale. Grab a bargain and do something good for the environment by recycling.

8. Carry snacks and water.

Carry the basics to keep everyone topped up and limit stops.

9. Familiarise yourself with the resort.

Avoid everyone having to stop in a restaurant by knowing where the public toilets are around the resort. That way you’re not stopping for hot chocolate every other hour! If you’re staying with us, ski instructor and chalet owner Thierry can help you organise your skiing for the week to combine the best picnic, snack and hot chocolate stops. Read more about Thierry on our ski lesson page

10. Avoid trips in the car.

Everything you need is in easy walking distance from Chalet Morzine, so you can forget the car once the food shopping is done.
