Morzine and Les Gets are awash with options for hiking and taking a picnic. What can be tricky is knowing how to make them work for everyone, which is where we hope we come in.

We know the walks and have driven to them, walked to them, ran to them (well, Thierry has), ridden to them, taken a chair lift to them, sat atop them in bright sunshine as well as in the wind, carried a picnic, and tried the restaurants. The discovery of this can be part of your adventure, or we can give you all the tips and tricks so that you can just focus on enjoying the view.

Take, for example, Mont Chery. From the top, you have a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains, including Mont Blanc, the Chablais, and the valleys of Arpettaz and Fouron. There are varying routes up, so you can drive, hike, run, ride and take a chair lift – something for everyone. Take your own picnic and set up camp on the picnic benches at the top, or head to our favourite restaurant up there which has a beautiful terrace and the best ice cream sundaes. It’s the best-kept local secret year-round.

We can give you all the options for routes and advice on which ones to pick based on fitness, ages of children and the weather when you arrive at Chalet Morzine, and have plenty more ideas to share with you. If you want to talk about them, or want more information then drop us an email or give us a call, we’re always happy to chat.
