Well, we think a summer activity holiday in the mountains is unbeatable for families. There is something for everyone, from 3 months to 103!

Morzine works hard to make sure this stays the case too, having been awarded the ‘Famille plus labelle’ for the range of activities on offer for all ages. What’s more, nearby Thonon-les-Bains and Evian-les-Bains have the same award, so if you fancy venturing a little further afield one day, you can enjoy the same peace of mind.

There is so much on offer here that often the hardest thing is deciding what to do. We’ve pulled together our favourites to give you a starting point, including many that are free or discounted through the multi-pass scheme (read more about that here).

All age activities:

  • Morzine indoor and outdoor pool complex with pools for all ages, toboggan and bouncy castle
  • Head for a picnic on one of the many benches around the mountains with beautiful views
  • Try out one of the high rope adventure parcs with age-specific activities
  • Take a horse and carriage ride through the town
  • Play on the large grassy area by Lake Montriond
  • Go indoor ice skating
  • Wonder up to one of the nearby spectacular waterfalls
  • Have a go on the carousel ride in town
  • Swim, Paddle, kayak, canoe or stand-up paddle board at Lake Montriond
  • Play crazy golf
  • Try the fitness circuit, horse ride, cycle, walk or visit the farm along the flat Dereches river path 
  • Head to the Goat village in Lindarets and feed the free wondering goats
  • Have a games and BBQ day in the Chalet Morzine garden
  • Take a day trip to one of the beaches on Lake Geneva, the beautiful town of Annecy with its family-friendly lake, Thonon-les-Bains and Evian-les-Bains, or the mountain town of Chamonix

For bigger kids:

  • Go mountain biking in Europe’s biggest MTB adventure playground
  • Try out the Aqua-play obstacle course in Les Gets (1m20 height restriction)
  • Check out the skate park
  • Test your climbing skills at the Via Ferrata
  • Paraglide over the town
  • Practise your tennis on the tennis courts
  • White water raft down the Dranse
  • Head to the Aqua Parc in Switzerland (1m20 height restriction)
