Well, a few people asked how an English woman from Yorkshire ended up in the Alps, so here’s our story!

Whilst I was managing the Northern French Alps for Thomson and Crystal holidays in 1998 (based in Morzine-Avoriaz), I decided to take up the free skiing lessons offered by the tour operator. It was a free service for guests at the time, but no one had turned up. So being very Yorkshire and not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, I quickly got my kit together and met the instructor… yes, and you’ve guessed it, it was Thierry.

Fresh back from a trip around Australia, Thierry’s newly polished English and French charm was in full flow. And so yes, I fell for all of that and the ski jacket hook, line and sinker. We travelled the world together for 18 months and then got married in Morzine in June 2002. Thierry’s father, Jean-Claude (a ski instructor as well as being Deputy Mayor of Morzine at the time) was able to marry us at Morzine town hall and we went on to have two gorgeous girls, Chloé and Léa. We raised our family here in Morzine, and have now been running Chalet Morzine as our family business for more than 20 years. Thierry is still a ski instructor and our chalet updater in the summer! I manage the chalet, am your first point of contact, and run workshops and coaching sessions for active women in menopause.

Being in resort, knowing it intricately, and raising a family here means that we know how to help you tailor your holiday for all generations, and we are always happy to chat to you about the chalet, your upcoming holiday, and how to make the most of it. Drop us an email or give us a call.
